Natchez Festival of Music Mission Statement

The Natchez Festival of Music is dedicated to enriching the lives of the Natchez community and its surrounding areas through the transformative power of the arts. Born from a vision sparked in 1990 by Lani and Ron Riches, and brought to life through the passion and expertise of Dr. David Blackburn, our festival has grown into a beacon of cultural excellence.

We strive to foster a vibrant arts community that welcomes and values the contributions of all individuals, creating a space where music, theater, and diverse artistic expressions can thrive. By partnering with local institutions such as Alcorn University and the University of Southern Mississippi, we provide educational opportunities, support for emerging artists, and a platform for world-class performances.

Our mission is to give back to the community that embraces us, offering accessible and inclusive experiences that inspire, entertain, and uplift. Through our commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement, we aim to ensure that the arts remain a vital and cherished part of life in Natchez and beyond.
